The "Locations" feature allows course providers to save and assign the course delivery locations without manual entry every time.

The benefit of adding "Locations"

Adding course location to your courses is essential for course providers as it can provide various benefits. Here are some examples:

  • Customers can easily find the course location on a map and get directions to the venue.

  • Customers can filter their search results by location to find courses that are convenient for them.

  • Customers can quickly see the location of the course on their booking confirmation emails, making it easy for them to reference the information when needed.

  • Customers can better plan their travel and accommodation arrangements if they know where the course will take place.

  • By adding the course location, the information can be pushed to Google for better SEO optimization, resulting in better search results on Google.

How to add "Locations"?

There are two locations where you can create new locations – in the admin settings and in the course settings.


​From the admin settings:

  • Go to Cademy - Admin

  • Click on Settings

  • Click on Locations

  • Click on New Location

From the course settings:

  • Create or edit an existing course

    • Scroll to the "Delivery Details" section on the "Description" tab

    • Click on the + button or on the "Create A New Location"

You can add public notes for the customers for better directions or private notes for yourself.


How to edit or delete"Locations"?

  • Go to Cademy - Admin

    • Click on Settings

    • Click on Locations

    • Click on the "gear icon"

  • If you edit a location assigned to one or more courses, those courses will automatically update with the new location.

  • If you attempt to delete a location assigned to one or more courses, a pop-up message will appear showing a list of those courses.


How to assign a "Location"?

You can assign locations to courses, occurrences, block dates, and your profile. Here's how to do it.

Assigning a location to a course:

  • Create or edit an existing course

    • Scroll to the "Delivery Details" section on the "Description" tab

    • Click the select field under the "Address"

    • Select your address from the list.
      ​


Assigning a location to occurrences:

  • Create or edit an existing course

    • Go to the course settings

    • Click the Dates tab

    • Click on "Add dates"

    • Click on "Change Default Settings, Spaces, Location or Price"

    • Assign or create an address from the "Address" field.

To edit the location to an existing occurrence

  • Click on the "pencil" icon near the occurrence date


Assigning a location to a block of dates:

  • Create or edit an existing course

    • Go to the course settings

    • Click the Dates tab

    • Click on "Add dates" for your block

    • Click on "Block" or "Block or Individually"

    • Click on "Change Default Settings, Spaces, Location or Price"

    • Assign or create an address from the "Address" field.

To edit the location to an existing block of dates:

  • Click on the "pencil" icon near the occurrence date

  • Click on "Change Default Settings, Spaces, Location or Price"


Assigning a location to your profile:

It will be shown in the About section on your profile page.

Go to Cademy - Admin

  • Click on Profile

  • Scroll to the "Location" section

In addition to the Primary Location, you can also list your "Secondary Locations" on your about page. This can be helpful for course providers with multiple physical locations or for those who offer services in multiple areas.


How and where do customers see "Locations"?

Customers will see the location of the course in various places, including booking confirmation emails, search results, the course page, occurrence details, the customer booking page, invoices/receipts, iCal, and the about course providers page. It is important to add the course location to your courses to ensure that your customers have all the necessary information to attend your courses.

Here are some examples of how customers see your "Locations":

Booking Confirmation Email:

Customers will see the course location in their booking confirmation email, making planning their travel in advance and improving their overall experience.


Course search results:

When searching for a course on the marketplace, customers can quickly see where a course is located under the course description. They can also filter results by the city to see all courses available in a specific location. This feature helps customers quickly narrow down their search results and find courses in their preferred city.


Couse page

The course location can be found at the bottom of the page, right after the course description. It includes the full address and an embedded map. Customers can click on the address and get directions directly in Google Maps.


Occurrences

To help customers quickly identify the location of the course for each date, they can see the location under each occurrence.


Customers booking page

Customers who have purchased a course can log in to their accounts and access the course page. On this page, they can see additional course information about the course, including the course location.


Invoices and Receipts

The course locations also can be found on the Invoices and Receipts.


Adding to the Calendar

Customers have the option to add the course time and location directly to their calendars by clicking "Add to Calendar" after checking out the course. This convenient feature ensures that customers have the course information and can easily keep track of their schedule.


The Educator's About page

Course providers who choose to display their location will have their addresses and other contact information visible on the About Page, making it easier for students to connect with them.
